Surfing is a true adventure, linking body, mind and soul as you contend with the waves of God’s grandest elements. Many surfers have found that it is the way to understand ourselves as creatures of God, and how we connect to the world around us.

Program Activities: body mechanics and safety; reading the waves; surfing culture; physical and emotional challenges of surfing; entering and exiting the water; general wellness workshops; morning and evening prayers; service projects in local communities; ocean stewardship
Required Skills: Campers should be able to perform the freestyle stroke and tread water. Prior surfing experience not required. Campers with prior experience are welcome and will improve their existing skills.
All campers must be able to participate in spiritual and community service activities throughout the week.
About the Staff: All program staff are trained in wilderness first aid, CPR and Safe Sanctuaries. Staff must pass a criminal background check for employment with Cal-Pac. In addition, program staff have been trained extensively in counseling and having fun in the great outdoors.
Director Danny Armanino has been an EMT since 1994 and learned to surf on the Oregon Coast in 1992. He has surfed warm and cold Pacific waters from Mexico to Canada. Danny has been directing youth camping programs since the 1990s and will lead a stellar program for all campers.
